FAQs

1

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple, and the first step is free. First, you book a free 15-minute consultation, where we talk honestly about what your family needs and whether we’re a good fit. From there, we verify your insurance or FES-UA funding at no cost, you complete a short intake, and for ABA or assessments we schedule an initial assessment. Then we build an individualized plan around your child, and sessions begin, in your home, in the community, or by telehealth. Reaching out doesn’t lock you into anything; the consultation is just a conversation.

2

Do you accept insurance or FES-UA, and what are your fees?

We work hard to make care accessible. We accept FES-UA funding and can verify your coverage at no cost before you commit to anything. Counseling is self-pay at $100 per session, with sliding-scale and package options available. Special education advocacy starts at $200 for a one-hour consultation, which includes a 1-hour Zoom/phone meeting and document review ($40 per additional document). For ABA and assessment pricing, and to check your specific funding, reach out and we’ll walk you through your options honestly.

3

Do you offer telehealth, and what areas do you serve?

Yes. We provide in-person services across the Tampa Bay area and telehealth statewide throughout Florida, so families outside Tampa can still work with us. During your free 15-minute consultation we’ll help you decide which format fits your child best, and many families use a mix of both.

4

How do I know if my child needs ABA?

If your child is working toward communication, daily-living, social, or emotional-regulation goals and you’d like structured, individualized support, ABA may help. The easiest first step is a free consultation, we’ll talk honestly about whether it’s a fit, and we’ll never recommend services your child doesn’t need.

5

Who provides counseling at OBHS?

Counseling at OBHS is provided by a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern practicing under licensed supervision, drawing on Play Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy. Your child is met through play and creativity rather than pressure, in a space that’s neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed.

6

What ages do you serve?

We serve children and teens through age 21. Older kids and teens often focus on independence, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, and transition planning for life after school. It’s rarely “too late” to get support, the right goals simply shift with age.
